Recommending Qualifying Purchases on Amazon
It’s been almost 5 years for me as the owner of Dearjookwak, an online retail business as a sole proprietorshop based in the City of Gardena since October 2019 trying to build a working blog post website. By the month of October this year it will be the 5th year anniversary of its establishment. And, it’s also about time for the fictitious business renewal for it’s been almost 5 years already. Like each year’s business license renewal, California driver’s license renewal every four years, or a sales permit in California, the eligibility based on both/either performance merit and/or on need based on respecting the mere intention of the business owner for the Sales and Use Tax purposes each year would be reviewed and qualified according to the regulation – a rule or directive made and maintained by an authority. Recently as of June 10 this year I finally have a new Sales Permit. Business activity category originally specified as Online Retail: Arts and Crafts which supposedly had been the kind of business activity for the past 5 years of doing business as Dearjookwak, had been of relatively little to none activities to report any sales and use tax on. Reporting California Sales and Use Tax each year requesting for its renewal and extension when not actually been able to generate any income made me wonder if I could do any business in the state of California requiring such a license or a permit or a minimal reselling business activity subject to California sales and use tax each year. Re-opening effort on my part to reinstate the previous sellers permit account, with the help of the State tax authority, was tried for the one last time before considering a new one. Without any income throughout a year for me was my honest performance somewhat embarrassingly to admit at first. I really didn’t have much to report and the account closure was the only answer I got on the third and the fourth years around sales and use tax season when I trying to report my no sales history throughout the year. I was told that it would be automatically closed conditionally imminent that an inactive account or poorly submitted report would face such account closure. It didn’t seem worth to keep trying redundantly on my part nor for the history of requesting a reconsideration over and over again. With a new Sales Permit, technically speaking, I could now become a qualifying reseller as situation may permit. Reality check is that i have just an online store and I could only customize a website or could perhaps curate according to the available Amazon marketplace line of products and services and therefore according to its regulations as the best policy to believe in and rely on. Reaching out to customers (who visit amazon.com via my online store website or social media channels) on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube or Twitch, … are currently also allowed. For me to explore how to procure three (3) qualifying sales properly and within the limited time frame would be the main concern with much aspiration and hope for a successful business.
I have been an Amazon Associate member candidate for the past 140 days now about 40 days to go to procure the required three (3) qualifying sales. Once I have the qualification, there would be more resources available for me to take advantage to choose a product from more easily to recommend to customers and I would have a better chance of generating any income however small or great. The stipulated 180 days length of time had been too short for me, it felt like without having to put much effort, to meet the three (3) qualifying sales ever since year 2020. I never had a chance to become an Amazon Associate member as of yet. For me it was only a side hustle interest to create and build a fully functional blog post website, and still is with hopes for a successful side income source. Time literally has passed so quickly again as the 180 days this time seem almost over in some 40 days remaining.
I think it requires certain amount of dedicated time and effort more appropriately managed this time for an online store business like Dearjookwak to be sucessful. Especially when relying on a working website and a few social media channels to drive any sales. It was a disappointing denial from Amazon without being able to prove any qualifying sales at hand at the end of the 180 days trials ever since year 2020. It has been seven consecutive applying before the eighth last January. Luckily I was allowed to reapply each time without much difficulty and kept on running the business with the absolute minimal ends meet all the time and with much effort on my part to refurbish all the Amazon links with new store ID on all my website and on social media fanpage or posts. My First Store – 2019 is one such website where popular pages at Amazon are listed for a convenient online shopping. Popular pages at Amazon.com are listed togather and viewable at a glance!! One caveat – a warning or proviso of specific stipulations, conditions, or limitations… I learned is that I may use a website, social media group or fanpage to drive sales however I may not do so through email, texts, nor via a newslatter according to an Amazon Associates team advising on how to drive an acceptable sale according to the Operations Policy.
